Enjoy the uncommon, the extraordinary, the amazing on this unique safari to Madagascar. Famous for its lemurs, this pristine island is home to more than 250,000 species of wildlife and birds.  We have designed this safari with multiple opportunities for bird watching, hiking and boating.  Luxury hotels, spas and experienced local guides complete this incredible journey.

 

 

Day 1
We arrive in Johannesburg, the economic and cultural center of South Africa. We'll relax at the luxury Outlook Lodge, resting up for our trip to Madagascar.

Day 2
We depart on a morning flight to Antananarivo, the bustling capital of Madagascar. Tonight we stay at Relais des Plateaux.

Day 3-4
We travel to Antsirananana (Diego Suarez) where we'll visit Mantagne D’ambre National Park. We've scheduled two days of hiking, game drives and bird viewing for our first days of safari. Our accommodations include two nights at the Nature Lodge.

Day 5
We drive to the remarkable Ankarana Reserve location of the Ankarana Massif, one of the most exciting reserves in Madagascar. We'll stay overnight in a tented camp.

Day 6-7
We have a morning flight to Antananarivo where, upon arriving, we enjoy a scenic drive to Perinet Reserve (Andasibe-Mantadia). We've scheduled a local guide to help us explore Perinet. We'll stay the next two nights at Vakona Lodge.

Day 8
Another morning flight takes us to Fort Dauphin. From there, we'll drive to the Berenty Reserve where beauty awaits. Our overnight stay is at the Gite d’Berenty Lodge.

Day 9
After enjoying a morning of exploring at the Berenty Reserve we fly back to Antananarivo where we'll stay at the incredible Palissandre Hotel and Spa.

Day 10
Our flight this morning takes us to Maroantsetra and the Masoala Peninsula. Overnight accommodations are at the Hotel Relais du Masoala.

Day 11
We travel by boat to the island of Nosy Mangabe Bay. Bird watching, beach hikes and photo opportunities are yours on our overnight stay on the island.

Day 12
Our morning boat lagoon trip transports us to Masoala Bay where we'll stay overnight at the Hotel Relais du Masoala.

Day 13
A short flight takes our group to Maroansetra for an overnight at Palissandre Hotel and Spa.

Day 14
Our journey has come to an end. We return by plane to Johannesburg where you'll connect with your flights to return home.

Single Supplement $1449 (added to the rate above), per person.

All accommodations, meals as indicated
All excursions as noted including permits, entrance fees, guide fees, local guides in reserves
All road transfers and internal Malagasy flights
Roundtrip flight to Johannesburg plus airport taxes
