TANZANIA (2009)
Sample Itinerary
The Ultimate African Experience especially tailored to the first-time traveler.
We begin with a spectacular view of Mt. Kilimanjaro as we fly over her on our way to Tarangire National Park, explore the famous Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti, and Olduvai Gorge, the site of the beginning of humankind. Extend your trip and track chimpanzee in the forests of Kakombe before heading home.
Day 1:
Arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport. After clearing customs, we will be greeted by our local guide and transferred to Mountain Village Lodge
for the night.

A picnic lunch is provided at the park during the game drive.

Zebra, wildebeest and gazelle mingle together, while herds of buffalo graze in the tall grasses. Elephant and rhino are often seen feeding in green marshes, while cheetah, hyena and lions lurk nearby.

Following breakfast, we enjoy another day of spectacular game viewing in the Ngorongoro Crater. A picnic lunch is provided during our game drive to take full advantage of the excellent photographic opportunity the crater provides.

Day 5:
After breakfast at the lodge, we head for the Serengeti. On the way, we will visit Oldupai Gorge for a tour of the Leakey archeological digs. Serengeti means “endless plain.” This vast savannah grassland extends northward into the Maasai Mara in Kenya and consists of 5,000 square miles of land, forming one of the world’s largest wildlife refuges. This land is as it was in the beginning: no fences, no settlements, just a perennial migration of wildlife. In a journey that dates back through time, wildebeest and zebra instinctively follow the seasonal rains as they migrate from the Serengeti into the Maasai Mara.
Mobile Tented Camp
Day 6:
We have great flexibility to plan the timing of our game drives as we experience our second day in the Serengeti.
