ITINERARY:DAY 1: CHONGWE RIVER CAMP, ZAMBEZI VALLEY
Arrive at Lusaka airport where you will be met and escorted to your Proflight charter heading for the Zambezi Valley, departing at 14:30. From the Royal airstrip you will be transferred to the Zambezi River for a boat ride on the Zambezi to Chongwe River Camp. This camp is located at the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers, opposite Mana Pools National Park, Zimbabwe and shares the boundary of the Lower Zambezi National Park. Chongwe River Camp is under a complete canopy of huge Winterthorn Acacias and looks onto the confluence of the two rivers and the mountains of the escarpment to the north. This camp was used twice by David Livingstone on his travels.Arrive in time for a night drive and an excellent dinner. Elephant, buffalo, kudu, waterbuck, leopard, lion, and hippo are regularly seen on day and night drives.
Chongwe River Camp chalets are large, well appointed Mulati tents under thatch, with a luxury open air bathroom en-suite surrounded by a half stone and half grass wall to ensure privacy. Each tent sleeps two people, in twin or double beds. The outdoor dining area looks out onto the river and the animals that regularly come to drink and feed near the lodge. After dinner, retire to the campfire and enjoy a cocktail while taking in the sounds and magic of the African night.

DAY 2-3: CHONGWE RIVER CAMP, ZAMBEZI VALLEY
After an early breakfast, morning game walk and brunch you head for the canoes. The lower Zambezi is renowned for its spectacular canoeing. Led by highly qualified guides, a canoe safari is river travel at a very leisurely pace, an effortless drift as the Zambezi floats the canoes downstream, and a time to enjoy the sounds of the huge variety of birdlife and admire the sheer beauty, exploring the various channels and the main stream of the Zambezi.
Elephants, crocs, waterbuck, buffalo, maybe lions, and lots of hippo are likely to be seen along the river.
Along the way, there are stops for snacks and tea. At the end of the day, game drive to Chongwe River Camp and a night drive.

DAY 4: MFUWE LODGE, LUANGWA VALLEY
After an early game walk and breakfast, transfer to Jeki airstrip for your charter flight to Mfuwe departing at 08:50. Arrive in the Luangwa Valley at 11:00, where you will be met and transferred to Mfuwe Lodge. This lodge is situated in one of the continents greatest wild life areas with a beautiful stands of ebony woodland and open grass plains. Elephants regularly cross the Luangwa River. You'll take a game drive in open Landrovers through the woodlands and after sun down enjoy a night drive, hoping to spot some of the many leopards that are located here.

DAY 5-6: CHINDENI BUSHCAMP
After an early breakfast at Mfuwe Lodge, set off along a game trail to Chindeni Camp, arriving in time for a hearty brunch. Spend 2 nights at Chindeni exploring the evergreen forests on foot and viewing the game from a private raised wooden decking over the still waters of the lagoon and surrounded by hills, shaded by ancient ebonies and nestled on the apex of an ox-bow lagoon. Game drives in open vehicles.

DAY 7-8: BILIMUNGWE BUSHCAMP
Enjoy an early morning walk and then drive on to Bilimungwe, in the heart of the National Park. This area offers superb walking along the Kampamba river and in the unspoilt mopane groves. The camp nestles in riverine forest and consists of 4 reed and thatch chalets with en-suite shower, toilet with queen-sized beds, mosquito nets and a re-chargeable lighting system. The rustic dining area and fully stocked bar are constructed on raised decking with views of Bilimungwe's permanent water hole and the abundant game that it attracts. The thatched canopy provides a cool and comfortable environment in which to enjoy this idyllic setting. Walking, game and night drives keep you busy while you are here.

DAYS 9-10: KAPAMBA BUSHCAMP
Located on the banks of the Kapamba River in the south of the park, the area is unspoilt and remote and offers magnificent walking. Accommodation is in spacious chalets, stylishly designed with the utmost attention to detail. The bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms are open-fronted, with individually designed metallic gates ensuring safety while still being able to enjoy the unspoilt views of the river and its many inhabitants. The king-sized or twin beds are sunken into a stone base and overlook the river.
- En-suite bathrooms boasts double brass shower heads mounted over the sunken double-sized stone bath. Enjoy a drink at the bar area overlooking the Kapamba River.
Enjoy magnificent game viewing, either on foot or by vehicle in this unspoilt section of the park.

DAY 11: MFUWE LODGE
Drive to Mfuwe Lodge and enjoy both day and night game drives.

DAY 12: HOMEWARD BOUND
Return transfer back to Mfuwe International Airport for a light aircraft flight to Lusaka and connecting flight home.

*all visa fees must be paid in US dollars cash. Zambia issues visas at the point of entry: US$135 per person. Multiple entry visa (valid for 3 years).
IMPORTANT NOTES
- Passports MUST be valid for at least six months from your return home date. We recommend a validity of nine months to prevent any problems in this regard
- There must be at least three blank VISA pages in the passport (not endorsement pages)
- Luggage restrictions: 12kg per person due to the charter flight on this itinerary.
- Each person is entitled to no more than 1 soft-sided suitcase weighing no more than 12 kilograms including any camera equipment and hand luggage. Any excess luggage can be stored at Lusaka Airport.
